Designing Educational Materials on Trademarks, Patents, and Rights for Public Engagement.

Role

Lead Designer – Editorial Design & Visual Communication

Industry

Legal / Intellectual Property / Public Education

Duration

3 years

Content Strategy and Visual Direction

Over the course of three years, I led the design of a series of educational publications as part of an EU-funded initiative focused on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The materials covered essential topics such as trademarks, patents, rightholder responsibilities, and user awareness, aiming to make legal concepts accessible to a broad audience—including creators, entrepreneurs, students, and the general public.

Collaborating with legal experts and communication strategists, I developed a visual system that emphasized clarity, simplicity, and inclusivity. Each publication was structured around a core theme, using iconography, color-coded sections, and clean layouts to guide readers through complex legal content with ease.

Design Execution and Public Impact

Throughout the project, I produced a cohesive set of materials, including brochures, posters, infographics, and digital assets for online campaigns. The visual language was designed to balance institutional credibility with user-friendly aesthetics—making the content feel both trustworthy and engaging.

The publications were distributed across multiple regions and platforms, supporting workshops, awareness campaigns, and educational events. They played a key role in raising public understanding of intellectual property rights and empowering individuals to protect their creative work and navigate legal frameworks confidently.

Reflection

This long-term project taught me how design can be a powerful tool for education and social impact. Translating legal content into visual formats required not only precision and strategic thinking, but also empathy for the end user. I learned how to bridge the gap between institutional language and public understanding—creating materials that inform, inspire, and empower. It was deeply rewarding to contribute to a mission that supports creativity, innovation, and legal literacy across diverse communities.
