The project began with an immersive dive into Mertur Beer’s origin story—a premium craft beer rooted in Albanian tradition, brewed with mountain spring water and local ingredients. The goal was to create a brand identity that honored its heritage while appealing to a modern, quality-conscious audience.

I explored the cultural landscape, competitive market, and consumer expectations to define a visual direction that felt authentic, bold, and memorable. The concept drew inspiration from the rugged beauty of the Mertur region, blending earthy textures, strong typography, and symbolic motifs that evoke craftsmanship and purity. The identity needed to feel artisanal yet elevated—something that could stand proudly on a shelf next to global brands while staying true to its roots.

Once the concept was refined, I developed a full visual system including logo design, label architecture, packaging formats, and supporting brand assets. Each element was carefully crafted to enhance shelf presence and storytelling—from the custom type treatments to the color palette inspired by natural tones and brewing elements.

I collaborated with print vendors to ensure the materials and finishes reflected the premium nature of the product—using textured papers, metallic inks, and embossed details to create a tactile experience. The final identity unified tradition and innovation, giving Mertur Beer a distinct voice in the craft beer market and a strong emotional connection with consumers.

Reflection

Designing for Mertur Beer was more than creating a label—it was about translating a place, a process, and a passion into visual form. This project reminded me of the power of design when it’s rooted in authenticity. Every choice—from the typography to the texture—was a tribute to the land and the people behind the brew. It’s a brand that doesn’t just sell beer—it tells a story with every sip.
